We are pleased to have received a four-star review for The Empire Room restaurant in The Telegraph on 9th December 2016. You can read the review by clicking here, clicking on the headline on the right or heading to our Press & Reviews page.
Our hotel includes the award-winning Empire Room restaurant, which is a member of Produced in Kent. Please click here for more information and to book a table.
The Royal Harbour Hotel is a delightfully quirky 27-bedroom townhouse hotel that stands on a beautiful Georgian crescent with magnificent views of the harbour and sea. The hotel is full of books and original artwork for our guests to enjoy. Simplicity, elegance and eccentricity go hand in hand! Click here to book.
The hotel has 27 bedrooms in 3 Georgian terrace buildings. Two of these buildings are adjacent to each other and the third building is situated 3 doors down. All lounges, gardens, library rooms, as well as our restaurant and bars, are available to all guests, whichever building their room is in. Please note that there are no lifts in any of the buildings.
We are also proud to include in our hotel the charming 30 cover Empire Room restaurant,
which serves great food in a club-like setting. Click here to find out more about the restaurant and book.
We are now selling gift vouchers valid both at the Royal Harbour Hotel and The Empire Room Restaurant, in denominations of £10 and £20. These are not exchangeable for cash and must be spent within 6 months of their issue date. Please contact us to enquire.
We offer complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel. Breakfast is a leisurely hot and cold feast with cured hams, warm croissants and smoked salmon together with a full cooked breakfast for those who wish. Bookings made via the ‘Book Online’ link on our menu include a full breakfast, while bookings through other sites do not.
We also cater for meetings and small conferences. Please contact us for further details.
We are rated very highly on Trip Advisor and have won their Certificate of Excellence for more than five years in a row, granting us ‘Hall of Fame’ status! A list of what we offer can be seen below the menu on the left, and more information about the hotel is spread further down the page and across the website.
There is ample on-street parking as well as a very small private, off-street car park. Please contact us ahead of your arrival to enquire about parking.
We look forward to welcoming you.
The three sitting rooms are wonderful, with stripped floors, gorgeous armchairs, crackling fires and an honesty bar, providing a home-like feeling. Many people meet and make friends while staying with us, taking advantage of the social areas and warm atmosphere. However, if you simply want a place to sleep and gain some peace and quiet, you will not be disappointed.
Throughout our hotel, you will find a roll-top desk, a large collection of beautiful artworks and a courtyard herb garden. There are binoculars with which to scan the high seas, a turntable to play vinyls (of which we have a large collection) and books by the hundred.
Bedrooms at the front are smaller and cosy with a sea view, while those at the back are larger and quieter. The first floor suite has a coal fire and French windows that open onto covered balconies. Every room includes a TV connected to Freeview, and every bed is topped with duck-down pillows.
We are ideally located within easy reach of the railway station, the ‘Blue Flag’ award-winning beach, the seafront, the yacht marina, the ferry terminal, local pubs and restaurants as well as a diverse selection of local shops in the town centre, and there are many excellent golf courses within the vicinity.
Below, you can see a recently-updated sample video for The Empire Room, our fabulous in-house restaurant.
